2008 Festival Pics
Camp Waubeeka Rally Copake, NY June 20-22nd Kinsmen Lift Off Cornwall, Ontario The Kinsmen Lift Off is a Festival that has about 25 balloons paired with headline concerts, Carnival rides, great food and a Fireworks Extravaganza. We were fortunate to be able to attend and plan to make this Rally a yearly event for our balloon team. The people who run this are top notch and treated us incredibly well. Enjoy the pictures! Quick Chek Festival Readington, NJ The Quick Chek Festival was the largest Rally to date that we attended and was really awesome! We had three flights all of which were really neat to fly. We were able to make a couple of parking lot landings on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Sunday morning was especially cool as we landed right next to our chase vehicle at a local Wal Mart. This Rally will be a yearly event for us. Enjoy the pictures! Saturday PM Black Sheep Tailgate Party The International Balloon Festival of Saint Jean-sur-Richelieu The largest Festival again to date. 9 days of nothing but ballooning both am & pm flights. That is more than even Fiesta in ABQ! The weather proved to be a big factor and we only took 5 flying opportunities because of the weather and wind conditions. We met some great people who fly there annually and who live there. Ellen and I have made the decision to return but will do so a bit different next year. We will be looking to use more local crew because of the language barrier yet hope to learn a little more French to help us when we go back. 2008 Black Sheep Rally This years event was attended by more pilots from around the United States. Those attending were Chris Liberti(Colorado), Sally Mazzochi(New Jersey), Matt Lidinsky(Maryland), Dawn Chase(Pennsylvania), Eric Hodges(Vermont), Ted Ohara(Schenectady, NY), Jim Regan(Connecticut), John Kelly(Saratoga, NY), Mark Pluta(Wilton. NY), BJ Sullivan(Fort Ann, NY), Todd Monahan(Glens Falls, NY), Andrew Avon(Glens Falls, NY) & Mike Hernandez(South Glens Falls, NY). The flying was amazing as we were able to get 5 flights during the weekend and made a huge statement on Sunday morning as we got up in the air before the ADK Festival Balloons and flew right towards them at the Warren County Airport. All of our pilots and crew showed their professionalism and ability as we again showed how safe and respectable we are. The landowners were great and enjoyed having The Black Sheep land at their homes. The planning has begun for next year and were hope to have between 20-30 balloons be a part of our Rally next year.
